The International Food Distributor Association (IFDA) represents the supply chain of more than a million restaurants across the US and worldwide, with an annual business turnover of more than $ 300 billion.

This commercial organizations  has recently issued a research paper on the subject of gender diversity in the restaurant industry.

The main conclusion is, you will not be surprised to discover that gender diversity is good for business, certainly in a world where more and more women are the owners and managers of restaurants. The argument is that more female presence in the hierarchy improves decision-making processes.

Equally important, the new clientele of the millennial restaurants considers gender diversity as a value and the issue affects their decisions where to dine and where to work.
