Rate the boss – the “Reformer” site for the hospitality industry in Australia

March 5, 2018

Source: abc.net.au

‘Rate My Boss’ is an Australian website created with the help of a workers organization, where employees in hotels and restaurants can share experiences and frustrations about their workplace, employer and managers, Anonymous, of course.

It is superfluous to say that the site’s activity is arousing storms in the industry, and is raising questions about its quality, credibility and contribution to the discourse of slander. The management level is furious, the employees are sympathetic and the United Voice organization is gaining attention.

The linked story brings the story and the picture of the situation, and even in detail. Only one thing is missing – a link to the site where the article deals.
This is the missing link: www.ratemyboss.org.au

Since its establish in December 2017, about 1,000 “experiences” have been published so far.

The event sharpens the need for industry leaders – owners and managers – to formulate a comprehensive strategy for the protection and preservation of reputation, and to instill in the employees an ethic of digital behavior. Because there is no doubt that the industry of anonymous tweets in the digital space is liable to harm the way, even the guests.

Incidentally, the site also includes praise from employees about their employers and managers.

In a written statement, Victoria’s Minister for Industrial Relations Natalie Hutchins said the Government was aware of the Rate My Boss website and had no regulatory responsibility for the website’s content.
A spokesman for the Australian Hotels Association declined to comment.”
